Interesting Facts -

Josiah Cox was promoted from Junior 2nd Lt. to Senior 2nd Lt. 1/7/1862.
He was wounded at Battle of Gaines Mill 6/27/1862 and on leave until 8/31/1862.
Wounded at Battle of Gettysburg on 7/1/1863, given furlough until 9/13/1863.
Promoted to Captain on 1/4/1864.
Wounded at Battle of Chancellorsville on 5/6/1864 with a gun shot to the right thigh, returned to duty on 11/19/1864.
He made application for retirement after being wounded at Chancellorsville, however, not granted until 3/6/1865.
After the war Josiah Cox served as a School Commissioner for Horry County.
