Interesting Facts -

He joined the Confederate Army when he was 15 years old, served in the 10th Reg. Co. B, promoted to 1st Corporal in 1864. He was discharged because he was underage. He re-enlisted under the name D. L. Long and served in the 26th Reg. Co K. Captured near Petersburg, VA at Battle of Crater and held in Point Lookout, MD until war ended. In the January 20th, 1887 Horry Herald, there was an article stating that L.D. Long attended a 9/26/1889 reunion of the 10th SC Reg.
