John Robinson Beaty - (Aug. 16, 1827 – Feb. 1865)
Son of Rev. Thomas Akin Beaty & Dorcas Chestnut Johnson.
John R. Beaty married Melvina C. Beaty (dau. of James S. Beaty & Louisa Pawley Sarvis) on March 22, 1849.
John R. Beaty served as a 2nd Lieut. in Co. B, 10th SC Inf., CSA.
He died as a result of a gunshot wound received while defending Conwayborough.
They lived in what we now call the Beaty-Little House at 507 Main St., Conway, SC.
He is buried in Kingston Presbyterian Churchyard in Conway.
